CLAREMONT SCHOOL – work in progress

Working as part of a collaboration with 4 former students of the garden design school we’ve been given the task to redesign the outside space at Claremont secondary school which is for pupils with physical impairments and learning difficulties, including a lot of multi sensory needs.
At the moment the outside balcony area is uninviting and the teachers are not feeling inspired to go out and use it. The teachers already have some key requirements, like resurfacing the under cover area, adding texture to the middle sections hard standing and screening the far end to create a quite place for teachers and activities for the children, we hope to build on these ideas and design a space that will be enjoyed by teachers and pupils alike.
